Job Description

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Temporary Accounting Assistant to support our client. This position offers an excellent opportunity to gain diverse experience in corporate and governmental accounting environments while contributing to the integrity of our client's financial operations.

Responsibilities

WORKING CONDITIONS (TRAVEL, HOURS, ENVIRONMENT)

• This position is currently designated as a fully in office position. This position is full time, pay rate: $20 hourly (40 hours per week) . 6 months.

Role Description :

The Accounting Assistant 2 will perform the day-to-day tasks associated with accounts payable.

• Process accounts payable invoices and ensure accurate and timely payment.
• Review and reconcile vendor statements to resolve any discrepancies.
• Maintain accurate records of all Accounts payable transactions.
• Assist with month-end closing activities related to accounts payable.
• Collaborate with internal departments to resolve any issues or inquiries related to accounts payable.
• Assist with other accounting tasks as needed.
• Adhere to all Generally Accepted Accounting Principles and Statutory Policies & Procedures.

Candidate Qualifications - Required :

Bachelor's degree in a business curriculum or related filed from an accredited college or university OR

Associate degree in a business curriculum or related field from an accredited college or university AND Two (2) years of experience performing accounting and/or fiscal control functions OR

High School diploma or GED AND Four (4) years of experience performing accounting and/or fiscal control functions or One (1) of experience required at the lower-level Financial Ops Generalist 2 (FIT021) or position equivalent.

Candidate Qualifications - Preferred :

• Working knowledge of accounts payable
• TeamWorks Financials experience
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Detail oriented
• Strong customer service skills
• 2- 3 years experience with PeopleSoft
• General ledger transactions using software such as QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, or PeopleSoft.

PHYSICAL/SENSORY REQUIREMENTS

Sedentary Work - Ability to exert 10 - 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or negligible amount of force frequently to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time but may involve walking or standing for brief periods of time.
