Hiring: Color Designer (Apparel)

Location: Beaverton, OR (Hybrid – Onsite at PHK, Fridays Remote)

Duration: 3-Month Contract

We are looking for a passionate and detail-oriented Color Designer to join the NSW Women’s Apparel Color Design team on a short-term contract. This role is ideal for someone early in their career who thrives in a fast-paced, collaborative design environment and has a strong eye for color, trends, and storytelling.

What You’ll Do

• Collaborate with Apparel Design, Graphics, Print, Product Management, Merchandising, and Development teams to deliver cohesive seasonal color direction
• Create original color palettes, narratives, and seasonal refreshes for existing products under design leadership guidance
• Review samples, troubleshoot color execution issues, and ensure accuracy from concept to production
• Conduct in-depth research across sport, fashion, art, and culture to influence color decisions
• Support cross-functional teams with color expertise as needed
• Help prepare and present seasonal color stories to internal and external stakeholders

What We’re Looking For

• 1–3 years of experience in color design or apparel design
• Strong understanding of color technology, materials, dyes, finishes, and color achievability
• Ability to apply seasonal trends to products through thoughtful use of color and materials
• Experience creating and communicating design intent through mood boards and CADs
• Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
• Strong communication skills (both visual and verbal) in cross-functional environments
• Passion for trend research and interpreting cultural and consumer insights

Technical Skills

• High proficiency in Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, and Keynote

Preferred

• Prior experience working with the client brand
