TLC Nursing Associates, Inc. is seeking a compassionate and experienced Registered Nurse (RN) – School Nurse for travel assignments . This role involves providing healthcare services to students , managing chronic conditions, administering medications, and responding to medical emergencies within a school setting. The RN will work closely with teachers, parents, and school administrators to promote student well-being.

Responsibilities

  • Provide basic healthcare services to students and staff.
  • Assess and treat minor illnesses and injuries .
  • Administer medications and manage chronic conditions (e.g., asthma, diabetes, epilepsy).
  • Maintain accurate health records and documentation .
  • Implement infection control and disease prevention protocols .
  • Develop individualized healthcare plans (IHPs) and emergency action plans (EAPs) .
  • Collaborate with parents, teachers, and healthcare providers .
  • Educate students on nutrition, hygiene, and wellness .
  • Monitor immunization records and ensure compliance with state health regulations.
  • Assist in health screenings (vision, hearing, scoliosis, etc.) .

Qualifications

  • Education: Active Registered Nurse (RN) license .
  • Experience: Minimum 1-2 years in pediatrics, school nursing, or public health .
  • Certifications: BLS required; School Nurse Certification preferred .
  • Skills: Strong knowledge of child health, first aid, and emergency care .
  • Physical Requirements: Ability to stand, walk, and assist with student care .
