Speech Therapy Assistant

Status: Full Time - Non-Exempt

Reports to: Rehabilitation Manager

Purpose/Distinguishing Characteristics:

Under the supervision of a speech therapist, administers therapy treatments to patients/residents. Work may be performed in one or more areas of Beartooth Billings Clinic to include outpatient rehabilitation, hospital, inpatient, and the Joliet satellite clinic.

Minimum Qualifications

• Certification from an accredited Speech Therapy Assistant program
• Current Montana state license as a certified physical therapy assistant, or eligible
• Healthcare Provider CPR certification

Working Conditions

• Normal patient care environment in a CAH hospital, includes contracted long term care facility, satellite clinic and home care services provided in patient homes. Participates in staffing rotations to provide Saturday coverage for inpatient and swing bed patients or Contracted LTC facility if appropriate.
• May be required to work varying shifts, weekends and/or holidays or to float to areas of need
• Blood Borne Pathogen Category: Category I: Tasks that involve exposure to blood, body fluids or tissues.
• Airborne Contaminant Category: Category I: Tasks that routinely require activities that may involve exposure to airborne contaminants.
