SUMMARY OF FUNCTIONS:

Responsible for the project management, design, and manufacture of process equipment orders. Duties and Responsibilities: Responsible for all project management and design engineering functions for assigned equipment orders. Independently engineers and designs aerospace autoclaves, composite and custom process systems, assuring that equipment meets all customer- and regulatory mandates. Responsible for creating Bills of Material and overseeing timely procurement of materials for assigned projects. Generates design approval and fabrication level drawings using 2-D and 3-D design software. Releases drawings to fabrication team. Collaborates with fabrication team as needed during construction of equipment. Generates and updates Project Schedules and Design Documents for assigned projects using various software packages including MS Project, MS Word, MS Excel, and MS Access. Regular and consistent communication with customers regarding product design, project schedule, project progress, equipment fabrication, installation, customer training, equipment acceptance, and addresses all customer questions and concerns. Acts as project champion with various departments to facilitate timely, cost efficient, and accurate purchasing, fabrication, testing, installation, start-up, training and/or repair of products. Evaluates existing designs/processes for possible improvements in design, cost efficiency, and reliability. EDUCATION / SKILLS / WORK EXPERIENCE:

Entry-level candidates must have a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering and a 3.4 GPA. Mechanical Engineer 2 candidates must have a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering and a minimum of four (4) years of relevant experience. A Master’s degree or Professional Engineering (PE) license is a plus. Must be able to independently analyze and design custom control equipment and solve complex problems creatively. Beneficial but Not Required: Coursework or experience in Mechanical Engineering Design, Machine Design, Statics, Dynamics, Strength of Materials, Numerical Analysis, Thermodynamics, Fluid Mechanics, Heat Transfer, and 3D Modeling Knowledge of Vibration Analysis, Turbomachinery, Industrial Economics and Management Experience with FEA and CFD Ability to perform mechanical and thermal analyses, including stress/strain, deflection, pressure, temperature, airflow, pump and duct sizing, heat transfer, and related calculations Strong organizational, multitasking, and problem-solving skills with sound judgment Strong written and verbal communication skills Project management experience or formal training preferred #J-18808-Ljbffr ASC Process Systems
