Mister Sparky® of SE Oakland County is a locally owned residential electrical service company backed by one of the most recognized brands in home services. We are launching our Oakland County operation and looking for an experienced Journeyman Electrician who wants more than just another job: a chance to get in early, help shape the team culture, influence how we serve customers, and grow with a company being built the right way from day one.

Position Overview

As a Journeyman Electrician, you will perform residential electrical repairs, troubleshooting, maintenance, installations, and replacements while delivering the high-quality customer experience expected from the Mister Sparky® brand.

You will be one of the early members of our local team, which means your work, attitude, communication, and leadership will help set the standard for the company we are building.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform residential electrical troubleshooting, repairs, maintenance, and installations.
• Replace and upgrade panels, breakers, wiring, devices, fixtures, and related electrical components.
• Diagnose electrical issues and recommend safe, effective, code-compliant solutions.
• Communicate clearly and professionally with homeowners.
• Present repair and replacement options in a respectful, easy-to-understand way.
• Complete accurate job notes, photos, invoices, and work order documentation.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area.
• Protect the customer’s home and leave the job site cleaner than you found it.
• Work closely with dispatch, management, and other team members.
• Maintain a professional appearance in uniform and while operating a company vehicle.
• Follow all NEC, state, local, and Mister Sparky® safety standards.

What We're Looking For

We are looking for a skilled electrician who is strong technically and understands that residential service is about trust. The right person is professional, reliable, customer focused, detail-oriented, coachable, comfortable working independently in customers' homes, and excited to help build a new local business.

Qualifications

• Active Journeyman Electrician license in Michigan required.
• Minimum 4 years of hands-on electrical experience.
• Strong knowledge of residential electrical systems.
• Ability to troubleshoot, diagnose, and complete work safely and efficiently.
• Knowledge of NEC, state, and local electrical codes.
• Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
• Ability to use mobile technology for job documentation and communication.
