What is the position?

The Email & Web Developer role sits at the crucial intersection of marketing, technology, and philanthropy bringing our digital presence to life in ways that inspire action and deepen connection. In this role, you'll lead the build and deployment of email campaigns while shaping and optimizing website content and performance. You'll play a key part in driving integrated digital initiatives that boost engagement, convert supporters into donors, and amplify community impact. We're looking for someone who pairs strong technical expertise with sharp attention to detail and who thrives in a collaborative, mission-driven environment alongside teammates passionate about advancing health equity.

What are the main responsibilities?

  • Email marketing and campaign execution. Building, scheduling, and deploying email marketing campaigns that include newsletters fundraising appeeals, and event promotion.
  • Website management and optimization. Maintain and improve a portfolio of websites and P2P fundraising platforms.
  • Ensure successful UX, implement site improvements, and optimize for audience engagement, conversion, and accessibility.
  • Track and analyze performance across email, web, and digital campaigns using tools such as Google Analytics and platform reporting.
  • Manage projects while maintaining communication and collaboration with both internal and external partners.


Who are we looking for?

  • 4 – 6 Years of experience in digital production, email marketing, web development, or closely related experience.
  • Hand-on experience building and deploying email campaigns, using automation platforms like Pardot, Salesforce Marketing Cloud, HubSpot, etc.
  • Experience managing and updating websites using content management systems like WordPress.
  • Strong proficiency in HTML5, CSS3 and JavaScript. Other dynamic web application languages such as JSP, PHP, XSLT, and AJAX a plus.
  • Must be comfortable publishing content related to sexual health, harm reduction, and HIV prevention and treatment. SFAF's key audiences include gay and bi men, people who use drugs, queer people of color, and trans and gender non-conforming people.


Where is the position located?

This position is primarily located at 940 Howard, San Francisco, however it may occasionally require traveling to other office locations or off-site meetings as required by the job. Role may include evening and weekend coverage. At least 3 days in office per week is required for this role.


What we offer?

Salary/Hourly Rate : $96,000 - $106,000

Benefits : SFAF is proud to offer a comprehensive and competitive benefits package for our full-time employees. We offer combined PTO/Sick Time Off of 24 days for the first two years of employment, 29 days after two years of employment. For retirement we offer a 403(b) Plan and SFAF matches employee contributes (1 to 1) up to 3% of Salary.
