As a CNC Machinist at Prototek, you’ll work on challenging, non-repetitive parts where quality, problem-solving, and craftsmanship truly matter.

The Work You’ll Be Doing \n

In this role, you will:

\n

\n
• Set up and operate CNC mills and CNC lathes
\n
• Machine parts to tight tolerances (±0.001” and tighter)
\n
• Run high-mix, low-volume prototype and short-run jobs
\n
• Load, edit, and optimize CNC programs
\n
• Select tooling, design fixtures, and calculate feeds/speeds
\n
• Perform first-article and in-process inspections
\n
• Collaborate with engineering, programming, and project teams
\n
• Mentor junior machinists and contribute to job planning
\n

Machines, Controls & Software \n

Machines: Doosan, Mazak, Haas, DMG Mori, Hurco
Controls: Fanuc, Mazatrol
CAM Software: Mastercam, Surfcam (or similar)
Inspection Tools: Calipers, micrometers, height gauges, indicators

\n

What We’re Looking For \n

Required:

\n

\n
• Level II: 2+ years of CNC machining and setup experience
\n
• Level III: 3+ years of advanced CNC machining and programming
\n
• Strong blueprint reading and GD&T interpretation skills
\n
• Experience with CNC mills and/or lathes
\n
• Comfortable troubleshooting machining and setup issues
\n

\n

Preferred (Not Required):

\n

\n
• CAM programming experience (Mastercam / Surfcam)
\n
• Exposure to 5-axis machining
\n
• ERP system experience
\n
• Trade school certificate or machining degree
\n

\n

• CNC Machinist II: $26.00 – $29.00/hr

• CNC Machinist III: $28.00 – $34.00/hr
\n
• 2nd Shift Premium: Additional 10%
\n
• Sign-On Bonus: $5,000
