Grandote Peaks is a golf course destination with big views, open space, and a growing food & beverage program, located in La Veta, Colorado at 7,000 feet elevation. We’re looking for an experienced Chef to lead our steakhouse kitchen and event operations, delivering high-quality, consistent cuisine.
This is a working chef role . You will be actively leading from the front—supervising, cooking, creating, and involved in daily service—while training your team to meet your standards of execution, cleanliness, and consistency.
There are executive responsibilities, but our focus is simple: deliver excellent food to our guests.
Compensation and title are flexible based on your experience, track record, and what you’re looking for next. Housing is provided and considered part of your total compensation.
We typically serve 30–80 covers daily, along with larger events such as tournaments, barbecues, weddings, and receptions (up to 200 guests, often buffet-style). Lunch service begins at 11am, and dinner service ends by 8pm. Guests can order Linz Heritage prime, dry-aged steaks throughout the day. Our yeast rolls are made in-house; desserts are evolving as we continue to build the program.
We require a stage (trial), and transportation will be provided.

What You’ll DoLead day-to-day kitchen operations (prep, line, and service)
Work the line during service and lead from the front
Execute a high-quality steakhouse menu with consistency
Oversee event food execution (weddings, tournaments, group functions)
Train, develop, and manage kitchen staff
Manage food cost, ordering, and inventory
Maintain cleanliness, organization, and food safety standards
Executive Chef, Head Chef, or strong Sous Chef ready to step up
A hands-on chef who is comfortable working the line regularly
Experience executing both à la carte and event-style service
Steakhouse or high-quality culinary background
Strong leadership and kitchen management skills
Passion for quality ingredients and execution
Someone who values lifestyle, independence, and a non-corporate environment
